My fiancé, Josh, and I have known each other for years, but realized our love for each other just last year. I had been in a previous relationship and was completely unaware that he had feelings for me the entire time! Upon his return to the United States from an 18 month deployment in Iraq, we reunited at a Welcome Home party in his honor where he finally admitted his true feelings and we've been together ever since!
After a year of both of us traveling back and forth from Warwick, Rhode Island to Savannah, Georgia where he is stationed at Fort Stewart, and many skype sessions, Josh proposed in Savannah this past March.
Our upcoming wedding on January 5, 2013 wasn't our ideal time, but with an impending deployment we had to move the wedding date a bit earlier. Needless to say, it's been very difficult to plan a wedding with a groom 1000 miles away!
Although we are both fortunate to have supportive families, and I especially with some great bridesmaids, it would be nice to be able to ease the monetary burden for those involved in my wedding.
